Kids' Day at LifeWay

This morning our LifeWay Christian Bookstore had a "Kid's Day" from 10:30 to Noon which they will do periodically when there's a new kid's video released. Today it was a Hermie and Friends video. The last one we went to was for Veggie Tales "The Wonderful Wizard of Has." We went to that one as a family and it was quite a busy place with lots of kids around and activities and snacks.

Well, David was tied up at church this morning so I asked my friend Renee to accompany me to LifeWay and help keep up with they boys in the midst of the chaos. We met her at LifeWay and as we were walking in we commented on the low number of cars in the parking lot. As it turned out, we were the only ones there! A few other kids came in later but for the most part in was just my boys, Renee, and me.

It didn't slow the boys down any that they were the only ones particiaptying in kid's day. They (especially Benjamin) loved having the coloring area all to themsleves. They watched the new Hermie video on the television. It was so cute when Benjamin heard the narrator speaking and said "Max Cade," his version of Max Lucado's name. Then Renee and I read books to them. We snacked on the regular and chocolate animal crackers they had out for the kids. We entered a drawing for a book and Renee and I each won one copy of "My John 3:16 book - Lola Mazola's Happyland Adventure." Then we sat down by the big reading chairs half way back in the store and another friend of our that works there read us the book we had just won. We had a great time!

Our purchases from LifeWay today included a VeggieTales Flip and Find matching game and a Boz video. I shot a little footage of David and the boys' matching game. They did really well. Benjamin is a bit eager sometimes but he's getting the hang of it.

I also shot this footage of the boys dancing to one of the songs on our new Boz video titled "Bananas, Bubbles, and Busy Bodies." The song is about having fun with a "Hoopty Hoop" (a.k.a. hula hoop). If this video doesn't make you laugh, your funny bone must be broken.

You gotta love those busy bodies!
