We got to dogsit Rosie for some friends of ours while their family went on vacation the first part of this week. The boys really liked having her around and I have to admit that I really like having her here too. The boys are both really gentle with her and pet her very sweetly.
Rosie was wagging her tail the whole time the boys were petting but that didn't show it the still pics of course so I decided to shoot this video. As soon as the camera was rolling she stopped wagging her tail - typical. I apologize for the television being so loud in the background (I was standing right in front of one of the speakers to shoot the video.)
I think she looks like a miniature Ewok when she jumps up on our back door. Too cute!
Rosie's dog carrier was another source of amusement for the boys. Nathan tried wiggling his way inside it first but he just couldn't quite fit - especially not with his arm in a cast.
Benjamin however...
somehow managed...
to fit himself....
completely...
inside the crate.
Nathan thought this would be a great way to keep his little brother from pestering him for a while but we did not let him latch the door.
Nathan peeks in at Benjamin through the holes in the top of the crate.
We do hope to get the boys a dog of their very own someday. The deal we've made is that when everyone is potty trained we can get a dog. Benjamin really wants to be a big boy and be potty trained like Nathan so hopefully it won't be too much longer before he can put the whole thought process together. Who knows, maybe we can get a canine for Christmas. We'll see.
