Beautiful Brownwood - Spillway Overlook

After we finished playing downtown we still had some time to kill before dinner so we drove out to the scenic spillway overlook at Lake Brownwood. Here we are heading up to the overlook anticipating the flowing water we'd see below - only there wasn't any water. I didn't realize that Lake Brownwood is down about six feet right now so we just enjoyed the nice view of rocks the little canyon that water normally flows though.
If you look closely over my right shoulder you can see Lake Brownwood off in the distance. Of course we got to see the lake close up as we drove over the dam to get up to the lookout. We enjoyed looking around up there and took several pics (of course) so here they are.
David took this nice pic of the lake and clouds as we drove back across the dam.
We ate dinner at CiCi's Pizza - good pizza, cinnamon rolls, and brownies as always.
We checked out the game room real quick before heading out of town.
David snapped another couple of pics of the beautiful clouds on the way home. I was just glad the sun was hiding behind the clouds because it is terrible to drive home from Brownwood with the sun in your eyes the whole way (that's the voice of experience speaking after many trips to Brownwood during my college days and our first year of marriage).
We were still able to get home by about 8:30 and get the boys in bed in a timely manner. What a great day!
