Rut Row Raggy (as Scooby Doo would say)

The boys were getting very shaggy again so we had a little fun with the long locks before they got clipped. In these first few pics I tried combing their hair back and ended up with this crazy spiky do.
Here I've got it all combed down for a minute.
Nathan gave me a sweet smile for this pic.
Benjamin gave me his Popeye face for this one. Both are prettty cute.
A couple of days later Dad took some more crazy hair pics for us before we went to Cool Cuts.
Silly boys.
I cannot believe how quickly their hair grows - especially Nathan's.
I'm just trying to tame the madness.

First Haircut Of The Year

I like these pics David snapped of the boys reading their night-night books with me. On this particular evening we read the Dr. Suess book "Green Eggs and Ham" and
a book that Benjamin received from our pediatrician at his last check-up titled "Read To Your Bunny." These shots really show off how long the boys hair had gotten. They were both pretty fluffy headed with their long golden locks.
Here are the pics I snapped showing off the new haircuts they received Monday. I like the haircuts okay. They look really nice and all it's just that they both look so much older with their hair cut so short. Oh well. As David often reminds me, they are growing up into little boys so I guess that's the way they should look.
Benjamin especially looked way too old for my liking but I'm getting used to it. The black turtle necks and jeans didn't help them look any younger but they sure were cute -my little men!
This is just a bonus shot I snapped of Nathan playing with his Bob the Builder gear. Can we build it? Yes we can!

Mohawk Madness

I decided to have a little fun with my sons' long locks before we went for our haircut the other day (October 6th). They were eating breakfast but still humored mom and showed off their make-shift Mohawks.Nathan gets very shaggy very quickly it seems.
Benjamin's had gotten pretty long this time too.
As I've stated before, I'm not a big fan of spiky dos so I was feeling much better once they'd had a little trim. They are such handsome boys (I'm very biased I know). I just think the shape of their little heads is so cute - especially with the neatly cut, gelled down blondness. Too sweet.
The boys both love going for haircuts because of the neat Thomas the Tank Engine wooden play set they have set up in the waiting area. Benjamin also likes the fact that they have Wiggles videos that are different from the ones we have and so he always gets to watch a new-to-him Wiggles show while getting his trim.
Nathan always asks to watch a Dora the Explorer video. We don't own any and he likes the little adventures she goes on with the map and everything. It keeps him still while the stylist trims away and that's what counts. This trip we also got free dinosaur coloring books. (They really should throw in the Thomas play set for free considering what I pay, but oh well.)

Crazy Hair

Looks like it's about time for haircuts again at our house. But before we snip off those golden locks we snapped this shot on our bathroom counter. We call this "crazy hair" at our house. I'm not a big fan of spikey hair dos so we always comb it nicely over before leaving the house. It's kind of fun to play a little first though.

I was reminded of another crazy hair picture that was taken right before Benjamin's first haircut back in January.
I was also reminded of one of my very most favorite brother pics ever taken in May 06. My mom had bought Nathan and Benjamin their first matching outfits back at the end of summer 2005 when we knew we were expecting a Benjamin. And now Benjamin is wearing Nathan's outfit from the May 06 picture in the top picture taken last week. Soon no one in my house will be able to wear that cute little blue race car outfit but I'll always have my picture of them smiling together on the blanket.

and hugging.

Ah, brotherly love - there's nothing like it! Though I grew up an only child (and feel very blessed to have done so) I thank God every day for letting me see what a blessing a sibling can be through the eyes of my sons. They are already each other's best friends.
