Easter at Grandma & Poppos

Last night we picked up my grandmother and went to my parents house to have a nice family dinner with my parents and a cousin who drove in from the metroplex to stay the weekend with them. Benjamin and I are shown here with our favorite part of dinner - dessert!
The boys got in a little TV time while the rest of us were still finishing up dinner.

After the boys had a bath and got their jammies on they had an Easter egg hunt (their first of three this year) in my parents living room. I forgot to take their Easter buckets with us so my mom improvised with a couple of brown paper gift bags. The boys didn't mind as long as they got to fill them with loot. Let the hunting begin.Nathan is a man on a mission.
Benjamin was so excited about each egg he found.

Once all the eggs had been gathered it was time to dump out the sacks, open up the eggs, and see what was inside.

Benjamin looks like he's thinking "Man, that's a lotta loot!"

Nathan is watching the wind-up hopping eggs that were part of their stash.
After the boys had opened all the eggs and surveyed all their goodies, they played with the empty eggs for a while.
These boys are no dummies - after they were done playing with the empty eggs they put them all back in a bag and gave them back to Grandma. They know how this works - give them back to Grandma and they show up filled up with more goodies the next year.
Benjamin liked playing peek-a-boo with his Bob the Builder drink under this big green bowl.

I guess it's true - simple toys are best.
